I misinterpreted the bead size ...Very chic pattern. I misinterpreted the bead size and used pony beads with a worsted weight simply soft. Worked just fine and woo hoo, lots a bling. I have some 6/0 beads but oh boy does that look like no fun feeding onto any kind of yarn! Gave a tan and blue bead to friend and as she pulled it out of the box, she said, "it just keeps coming and coming." but she wore it right off. (success! Yes!) thank you.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04500754333889431638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2753183599015929557.post-36309332770566250002011-01-20T14:24:42.732-08:002011-01-20T14:24:42.732-08:00No, the scarf is not heavy at all, but probably be...No, the scarf is not heavy at all, but probably because I used sport weight yarn. And it's actually very comfortable because I used smooth beads that felt nice against my skin. The beads do get a little cold though, so remember that when making it! :)Amy Depewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17392918802648760342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2753183599015929557.post-51287771867656089082011-01-20T09:30:07.186-08:002011-01-20T09:30:07.186-08:00Just a quick question about the beads in the scarf...Just a quick question about the beads in the scarf. Do they make it uncomforable to wear or make the scarf heavy? I'm just learning to bead crochet so I'm trying to learn all the nuances. Thanks for sharing your pattern.Mindtreasuryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03069417063604080324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2753183599015929557.post-11346253561658871382010-02-17T10:43:08.478-08:002010-02-17T10:43:08.478-08:00Thanks so much for the response!!! :)Thanks so much for the response!!! :)GeorgiaGinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04806084812667062826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2753183599015929557.post-41363692237966066942010-02-15T17:14:05.956-08:002010-02-15T17:14:05.956-08:00Hey there Gina! Have no idea why, but that's what I figured out the hard way. 6/0 beads are just a particular size. They have a slightly larger hole, which makes them easier to thread onto the yarn. And yes, thread the beads before you start. It makes it cumbersome to crochet, especially in the beginning, because you are constantly sliding beads down the yarn...but it's worth it! Once you sign in, check out the video because it also shows you tips on threading the beads. Good luck!!Amy Depewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17392918802648760342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2753183599015929557.post-3755480352101180252010-02-15T12:24:35.946-08:002010-02-15T12:24:35.946-08:00Wow, I am excited to try this out. One quick question...did you string the beads onto the yarn first (I'm assuming so) and if so, how did you do?\
For some reason, your video is "not available" when clicked on.
What is a 6/0 bead? They fit on sport yarn?
Tx!!!GeorgiaGinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04806084812667062826noreply@blogger.com
